Extend Your Home and Lifestyle with Woodford Homes
Woodford Homes has been designing and building home extensions in the Blue Mountains, Penrith and surrounding areas for over 20 years.
Our expert team can extend your home up or out, depending on the size and profile of your block and your preference. If your block is small, a first floor addition can give you more space inside, and help retain open space outside.
At Woodford Homes, we understand a home extension isn’t just about making your house bigger.
A thoughtfully designed and quality built extension can:
- improve the flow of your home
- create different zones for a growing family
- make room for hobbies
- provide a private space
- give you the room to entertain friends and family
- allow for intergenerational living
- add value to your property
- capture hidden views, and
- help increase energy efficiency.

Your biggest asset will be in good hands
For most of us, our home is our biggest financial asset. It’s also the place where relationships are built and memories made.
The team at Woodford Homes treat your home and your family with the care and respect they deserve.
We’ll work in partnership with you to design and build an extension that maximises your budget and adds value to your home and your life.
Extend vs Renovate
When you extend your home, you add additional walls and ceilings. A renovation involves altering the existing structure.
Woodford Homes will only undertake renovations as part of your extension. We do not take on renovation only projects.
What does this mean? We will renovate other parts of your home to better integrate your extension and bring adjoining parts of the house up to date. These renovations will be included as part of your extension design.
Why DIY isn’t always the way to go
DIY projects can be rewarding and can save you money.
However, a home extension is a very serious DIY project! To do the job properly you need expertise in design, project management and construction.
This means you’ll have to source tradespeople you can trust, liaise with suppliers, make sure you have the materials you need and that they arrive on time, keep you and your property safe and, of course, deal with your local council.
Get any of this even slightly wrong and you could end up devaluing your property. A bungled DIY project is not just painful on the pocket, it could threaten the structural integrity of your home.
And, of course, doing it yourself can turn a 6-month building project into a 6-year slog. Here’s what one of our recent clients had to say about working with Woodford Homes.
“Woodford Homes did a great job with our renovations for a library, extended loungeroom and deck on our old home in the Blue Mountains. They reminded me of production companies in the Australian film industry in that they know how to use their resources to work personally, and creatively, with clients and at the same time finish on time and on budget.
I would strongly advise anyone who thinks they can ‘do it themselves’ to think about whether they want to spend 4 or 6 years of their life tied down to the uncertain boundaries of a building project, or contract wonderful builders like Woodford Homes who can work with you creatively, finding solutions to your desires, and complete the work within a couple of months instead of years.”
